Workshop in Värmland: Holistically Planned Grazing with Sheep

Workshop Holistically Planned Grazing with Sheep

Invitation from Arthur Sevestre on Two Oaks Farm in Värmland:

Do you want to learn how to use grazing animals to optimise soil and plant health, instead of seeing poorer and poorer grass each year?

Do you want to drastically reduce the need for hay to at worst 2,5 months per year?

Do you want to learn how your animals can be on completely fresh grass at the very least every third day, thus improving their feed quality, and preventing disease?

Through careful planning of moving a flock or herd of any grazing animal, all of this is possible. Even in this tough climate.

We'll go over the biology of grasslands, the essential role of grazing animals in that ecosystem, seasonal changes, fence system designs, housing options, planning of lambing, mobile fence use, analysing when a paddock is ready to be grazed again, alternatives to hay, and many more things.

My name is Arthur Sevestre, and I am originally from the Netherlands, but have been on our small regenerative farm since 2015. I hold a master's degree in biology, specialised in ecology and environmental biology. However, I am not an accredited teacher of holistically planned grazing, but have successfully used the method since the sheep arrived on the farm in 2020.

We will start the day at kl 10, and go on until kl 17.

Coffee, tea, and a simple lunch will be provided.

Costs: 350kr per person.

Maximum number of guests is 6.
